Mr. A was traveling through the intersection on a green light when a Maricopa County employee, while working in the scope of his employment, ran a red light and t-boned Mr. A’s vehicle. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. Although Maricopa County accepted liability for the accident they contested the causation of the injuries and the extent of the treatment.
As a result of the accident, Mr. A sustained multiple serious injuries, including multiple pelvis fractures, a broken collar bone, eleven fractured ribs, a punctured and collapsed lung and severe nerve damage to his leg. As a result of Maricopa County contesting the injuries, Mr. A was forced to file a lawsuit. The case was settled at a private mediation.
